About Berwick Maine:

The Town of Berwick is conveniently located at the junction of Routes 9 & 236 in the southwest corner of York County in southern Maine. These routes are corridor routes along which is located land suitable for economic development ranging from incubator business sites to manufacturing and light industrial sites to sites for professional offices. They provide easy access to I-95 and to the seacoast region.

Berwick is primarily a residential community. The 2000 Census lists 6,353 residents. Many of our residents commute daily to Portland or to the Boston area attesting to the desirability of living in Berwick. Kennebunk Savings Bank opened a new Branch Office in Berwick in 2001. Several shopping centers are located within a short drive from Berwick as is the rapidly growing Pease International Airport Complex.

The Town has a stable government, a growing community spirit, a good school district with a brand new high school, and a commitment to foster economic development. The nearby York County Community College offers college courses to support the needs of local business and industry and will often work with firms to meet specific educational needs.

The Town of Berwick has established a Nine Member Economic Development Committee. The Committee has adopted a program to support responsible and relevant business and industry, which will improve the lives and employment opportunities for the citizens of Berwick. The Town Manager serves as the Economic Development Director and is available to answer questions about the kinds of sites that are available, the type of state and local financial assistance that may be available and about any other aspect of Berwick and its economic development efforts.
